Buses are a cost-effective way of getting around the city.  San Sebastian's buses are clean and efficient, and fares usually cost less than a euro.  You can save on bus fares by getting a bank card.  You get this by opening a credit account in KUTXA.  They will issue your card two weeks later.  You can use this card to ride the city buses.  The card is rechargeable – just visit the bank and pre-pay the corresponding amount you want.  The card is not recommended for those who will only have a short stay in the city, as the card takes two weeks to process.
